Issues

As the only Puerto Rican elected official in the state of Missouri—and one of the less than 3% of Latino elected officials nationwide— I raise awareness about issues that affect the Puerto Rican community. We must continue to mobilize the diaspora and advocate for Latinos in leadership and policymaking.

My priorities:

• Promoting economic opportunities and improving the quality of life for Puerto Ricans in St. Louis, the mainland, and on the island.

• Preserving the culture and identity of the Puerto Rican community.

• Supporting a self-determination and decolonization process in Puerto Rico recognized by the U.S. Congress.

• Fighting for greater Latino representation in leadership roles at every level of government.
