Advancing the diaspora
As the only Puerto Rican elected official in the state of Missouri—and one of the less than 3% of Latino elected officials nationwide— I raise awareness about issues that affect the Puerto Rican community. We must continue to mobilize the diaspora and advocate for Latinos in leadership and policymaking.
My priorities:
Promoting economic opportunities and improving the quality of life for Puerto Ricans in St. Louis, the mainland, and on the island.
Preserving the culture and identity of the Puerto Rican community.
Supporting a self-determination and decolonization process in Puerto Rico recognized by the U.S. Congress.
Fighting for greater Latino representation in leadership roles at every level of government.
